| The
Kiwi Award of Merit (A special good neighbor award
presented as a salute to chapters that have performed the most
outstanding service toward unifying their communities each two-year
period between National Conventions) -
San Diego Chapter
for their continued support and dedication to the San
Diego Center for the Blind and the Los Angeles Base WINGS fund. In
the past 6 years this ever-increasing chapter has donated in excess
of $13,000 to their charity. |
| The
Kay Hansen Award - Atlanta Chapter
for their outstanding service to the Atlanta’ Women’s
Day Shelter for Women and Children. This chapter annually assembles
and distributes 75 beautifully wrapped baskets to the shelter. The
baskets are used as an award gift to the women as they learn skills
necessary to survive in today’s society. In addition the chapter
donated new file cabinets and fax/copy machine for the
administrative office. Atlanta also donates to Wings, supports a
family at Thanksgiving and Breast Cancer Research. |
| The
Memorial Award - Raleigh-Durham Chapter.
This small chapter of 12 members keeps the spirit of
Kiwi giving alive. Their donations of non-perishable goods such as
diapers, baby food, toiletries, towels, and food to Urban Ministries
of Durham. This organization runs the community kitchen that feeds
the homeless. |
| The
Virginia Woodby Conrad/Kiwi Club Award - SW Florida Chapter.
This chapter is so diversified in their giving - their
donations of time, money, merchandise is spread among Wings of
Miami, Ronald McDonald House, Hospice of Naples, Wings Disaster
Relief Fund. |
| The
Kiwi Award of Excellence (To recognize a chapter for its
continual dedication to and support of The Kiwi Club and its local
community) - Central Florida Chapter.
Only 11 members make up this very active chapter.
They have given of their time to the Christian Food Pantry and
Carver Heights Ministry. These members give of their time and after
school snacks to the ministry. They also gather holiday gifts for
the ministry children during Christmas. Three members of this
chapter live out of the area and donate their time to local
charities. |

Award
(To honor the chapter with the largest percentage of increased
membership in the preceding two years) - O'Hare Chapter
- hands down with a 68% increase in membership of NEW Kiwi’s.
