A Farewell Note from Our Convention Chair:

Muchas Gracias, Kiwis!

As I close the book on our 2026 Convention, I want to offer my heartfelt muchas gracias to everyone who helped make our "Nacho Ordinary Convention" such a success.

It has been an honor to serve as your Convention Chair once again. Working alongside so many dedicated Kiwis—friends I've known for years and new friends I've met along the way—has been a privilege I'll always treasure.

What Made Our 2026 Convention So Special

  • Our incredible volunteers, the "Fiesta Flight Crew," whose dedication made every event possible.

  • Kiwis and guests who traveled from across the country, representing generations of American Airlines flight attendants—from those who graduated over 70 years ago to members who are still flying today.

  • Our beautiful home at Hotel Contessa on San Antonio's River Walk.

  • Celebrating so many milestones, including American Airlines' 100th anniversary, milestone graduation classes, and 30 years of supporting WINGS.

  • An unforgettable Opening Luncheon featuring Captain Beverley Bass.

  • The Convention App, Kiwi Mercado, Hospitality Room, awards, historical displays, and all the special touches that made the week memorable.

  • Wonderful optional events, including our River Walk evening at Casa Rio—and, of course, the unexpected appearance of Lefty the Llama, who quickly became one of our most popular guests!

  • A Closing Banquet filled with music, laughter, dancing, and the exciting reveal of our next convention destination: Palm Springs in 2028.

Most of all, I will remember the friendships, conversations, laughter, and shared memories that remind us why The Kiwi Club continues to be such a special organization.

Thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, donor, chapter, entertainer, presenter, and attendee. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and love for The Kiwi Club made this convention possible.

Congratulations to our 2028 Convention Co-Chairs, Paula Brodnick Schmikrath and Connie Nemes. I know they will lead another outstanding convention, and I look forward to joining all of you in Palm Springs.

Until then, thank you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your Convention Chair.

With gratitude,

Sherri Engle Lowe
