A little story of how Gladys became a FA...
She was born in China. At age 3, she and her mother arrived in San Francisco to
meet up with her father who worked as a cook in Chinatown. During my interview,
her interviewer suggested that she use the glamour word of “chef" instead. She
quietly mumbled to herself, “No, he’s a cook.” But what do I know?
One quiet afternoon, she was reading a Superman comic book with a panel of a
stewardess in an airplane. I said, “I want to be her!” That’s it!
I graduated in 1970-13 and was based in NYC for 2 years and SFO for 8 years.
Being based in my beautiful hometown was a blast!
Along the way, her dreams changed and she resigned in 1980 to search for her prince
charming. Flying and being married was not for her at all. After she stopped flying,
she stood still long enough for her to meet her prince to propose marriage to him
who said, “Yes!” lol! Being Mrs. Hans Werner Kupper from 1981-2001 turned out to be her best career
ever.
Muttville...
Being a Muttville foster mom, she nursed her little puppers back to health for their
new fur-ever homes. In July 2022, Gladys fostered an 8 lb., 8 yo female Chi named Willie for one week.
Then two dads, who travel a lot, adopted her and honored me with the title of fairy
godmother (FGM). It’s amazing how a little pupper can wrap our hearts around her
little paw, and we wouldn't want it any other way. It’s been going strong for four years now!
Gladys, also, enjoys photography, writing, being a health enthusiast and a foodie / food critic
A little history...
For the 2016 Kiwi Convention in SF, she invited 9 talented Chinese student
dancers from the Betty Ong Recreation Center in Chinatown. They were
looking for an audience; we were looking for Chinese entertainment. Perfect!
Win-Win!!
